Digital Classroom
Digital Education System – Current Challenges
Our society is facing a digital divide. While 70% of the population lives in rural areas, only 30% of the rural population gets digital education. We have villages with no schools; if there are schools, there are no classrooms, teachers, or computers.
Solution and Way Forward
HPE Digital Classrooms
In order to tackle this digital divide, HPE developed this unique concept called “Digital Classrooms”, with an aim to fill the digital literacy gap among rural India's youth and prepare them for employability.
The concept of “Digital Village” is derived from the idea of “Digital India,” which is being promoted by the Government of India in all aspects of governance.
A classroom comprises computers and fully equipped and refurbished classrooms to enhance student learning.
Digital classrooms are a great way to learn from anywhere and at your own pace with a good internet connection. The biggest advantage of digital classrooms is that they break geographical barriers and allow students to study wherever they want, at their own pace.
Digital learning has surpassed traditional teaching methods in this pandemic era, and it has been successful in many ways, if not all. The rapid transformation of classrooms with new teaching and learning techniques based on digital learning tools and techniques is noticeable.
The students have gained empowerment by becoming more interested in learning and expanding their horizons. The benefits that students experience through digital education include:
Makes Them Self-Motivated and Accountable
Digital learning provides students with multiple engaging methods to learn at once, which fosters self-motivation and accountability. Peer education, teamwork, problem-solving, reverse teaching, concept maps, gamification, staging, role-playing, and storytelling are the main components of these methods. By using this interactive and memorable model, students can connect better with the learning material, which improves their motivation and accountability.
Makes Them Digitally Smarter
Students are becoming more and more aware of the changing times as they acquire various digital tools and technologies. They are learning various tools and techniques quickly to keep up with these changes, which is making them smarter and more knowledgeable.
Involves Teachers and Parents to a Deeper Extent
Social learning platforms, digital learning tools, and other technologies have made it easy for teachers to create and manage groups for students and parents. By allowing for personalized learning sequences for each student, education has become more productive and has accelerated overall progress.
Rapidly Increased Information Sharing
Digital education has made it possible for students to access more and more information, resulting in increased learning opportunities. The students have been able to ensure that information is according to their personal needs and understanding with the help of digital education. The sharing of information has become a breeze among students and teachers. By embracing digital devices and connected learning, classes worldwide can share insights and coordinate with each other.
Making Them Acquainted with Various Digital Tools and Technologies
Students are prepared for higher education and modern careers using digital learning tools and technology in elementary, secondary, and high schools. It helps them acquire skills including problem-solving, familiarity with emerging technologies, and self-motivation.
